Our Dual Rotary Bore Gage uses NewWayAir Air Bearing technology to inspect two precision bores with a displayed resolution of 0.10 um. A semi-automatic inspection system where the operator loads/unloads the part achieving an 80 second cycle time.
With the part under load to simulate the installed torque, each bore is scanned with a data collection rate of 3600 points a second. The Dual Rotary Bore Gage will then display all the acquired measurements in an easy to view and use graphical interface, displaying plots of each scan, the found center points of each bore and more. SPC data of each measurement is available through the touch HMI after every part scan.
The Automatic Oil Pan Torque Assembly and Laser Marking Cell is an integrated assembly and metrology cell designed for precise installation and limited human interaction of components. This auto cell installs positioning dowels and a drain plug.
The cell is designed to handle both right and left side installation part types. Afterwards, a semi-automatic station has the operator install a baffle using a floating Nutrunner. Finally, the last station marks the part with 2D-matrix using a fully contained Class-1 laser.
The Casting Gage for Cylinder Heads allows multiple part types to be gaged without tooling change over. By using a 2D-matrix scanner and RTGC32 the data matrix is read. More specifically, if a data matrix does not match those taught to RTGC32 or is missing, the station will reject the part.
Conversely, parts that have a readable data matrix will be gaged and receive a cavity check. If the part is good, it will receive a stamping at the machine’s exit conveyor.
The Automatic Differential Carrier Inspection Gage is capable of sub 30 second tact time and is gravity fed. The gage measures different outer diameter dimensions using contact metrology probes.
This machine can be taught several different part types. Namely, by using a 2D-matrix scanner to read a data matrix barcode. This results in the gage station running on very little operator intervention as new parts are introduced into the system.
The High Speed Strut Inspection and Sorting System uses vision based inspection for sorting struts. First the parts are bulk loaded into a hopper and discharged randomly to a continuous feed conveyor.
Two vision guided robots pick struts with proper orientation from the conveyor. Four high resolution machine vision cameras with telecentric lenses are used for inspection. Lastly, the robots deposit the struts into one of two chutes, good and reject.
The Automatic Fuel Injector Assembly System is a prime example of assembly and metrology. The palletized conveyor transports fuel injectors between each assembly station. First the cell’s robot load the fuel injector and armature sub-assembly into the assembly station.
Afterward the station installs the ball valve into the assembly. Additionally, cameras are utilized verifying the assembly is correct at each stage. Once completed, the robot places the final assembly back onto the pallet.
